PROBLEMS · SYSTEMS · PRODUCTS
I enjoy understanding complex problems and building useful products.
PixelSync is where I document the ideas, products and experiments I'm building. It started as a way to explore what AI could help me achieve and has grown into a collection of projects, lessons and working systems.
Why PixelSync exists
For more than thirty years I have worked around technology, business systems and problem solving. In recent years I became fascinated by a simple question, how much can one person achieve when domain understanding, structured thinking and modern AI tools are combined effectively?
PixelSync grew out of that curiosity and became a place to explore ideas, test assumptions and build products. Every project on this site started with a real problem, a new domain or a question worth exploring.
How I work
Start with the real world process, not the technology trend.
Study the language, constraints, users, data and operational reality.
Find where information, decisions or workflows break down.
Use AI to accelerate research, design and development, then test assumptions against evidence.
What I've been building
A collection of projects exploring data, communication, tourism, gaming, governance and creative media.
Exploring how AI projects can remain understandable, accountable and aligned with their original purpose.
A levy intelligence and reconciliation system exploring how fragmented apprenticeship, provider and funding data can be aligned into a single operational and financial truth.
Communication intelligence focused on preserving meaning, tone, intent and brand identity across languages and markets.
Memory first tourism and walking journey experiences built around live location, guided discovery and reflection.
A physics led casual game exploring replay, challenge, retention, leaderboard systems and asynchronous competition.
Governed cultural intelligence for brands, creators and operators who need signal, restraint and explainable decisions.
Exploring visual storytelling, emotional experiences, narrative design and creative media production.
Exploring ways to cut through information overload and surface the signals that actually matter.
Internal operating standards, architecture contracts and design rules used to protect coherence and prevent drift over time.
The pattern behind the projects
At first glance, apprenticeships, translation, tourism, gaming, governance, creative media and market intelligence seem unrelated. What connects them is a curiosity about how complex systems work and how they can be improved.
Every project starts the same way. Learn the domain, understand the problem, identify where people struggle and explore whether a better approach is possible. The industries change, but the underlying mindset remains consistent.
Capabilities
Turning ambiguous problems into structured product concepts, prototypes and validation paths.
Guardrails, output contracts, validation, traceability and human in the loop decision control.
Ingestion, normalisation, identity matching, exception detection and decision ready truth.
Calm, intentional interfaces that reduce ambiguity and make complex workflows understandable.
Operating standard
AI is useful only when it improves understanding, decision making or delivery.
Drift, ambiguity and misuse are addressed structurally rather than patched later.
AI can assist, but meaningful decisions remain human controlled and accountable.
Projects are described by what exists, what has been validated and what remains to be explored.
What PixelSync refuses
PixelSync is built around honest maturity, human judgement and systems that can be understood, defended, maintained and improved.
Transparency
Some projects are live platforms, some are working prototypes and some are active research initiatives. All are presented honestly, with a focus on what has been built, what has been validated and what remains to be explored.
PixelSync is a portfolio of projects, ideas and ongoing experiments created by Tom Crowe. It serves as a public record of what has been built, what has been learned and what is being explored next.
